Watchdog Strata vs BuildingLink
- BuildingLink is stronger on scale (it claims 8,000+ buildings), integrations, amenity reservations, visitor entry and native apps.
- Both offer Simplified Chinese. BuildingLink's resident app lists nine languages.
- Watchdog Strata is stronger on tenancy integrity alerts, owner-managed tenants and owners' polls on quotes.
- BuildingLink doesn't publish pricing, and GetApp AU lists no free trial.
What is BuildingLink?
BuildingLink Asia Pacific says it's trusted by more than 8,000 buildings, covering 1.4 million lots and 2.6 million residents. Its site lists an all-in-one app, maintenance, communication, a secure portal, reporting, and integrations with access control, smart keys, parcel lockers, payment gateways and EV chargers. The resident app lets residents:
- track packages
- make amenity reservations and submit repair requests
- view their account balance
- request visitor entry
- post marketplace ads
- send front-desk instructions and show a resident ID
Some of these options depend on what each property enables.
What is Watchdog Strata?

BuildingLink wins on breadth and integrations. Watchdog's edge is narrower: occupancy accuracy and owner decisions.
Where BuildingLink is stronger
- Integrations. Access control, parcel lockers, payments and EV chargers connect to the platform. Watchdog doesn't integrate with hardware.
- Languages. Nine resident-app languages, compared with Watchdog's two.
- Front-desk features. Amenity reservations, visitor entry, front-desk instructions and valet requests.
- Adoption. 100K+ downloads and 1.22K reviews on Google Play, and 4.0 from 50 ratings on the AU App Store (checked 15 October 2026).
Where Watchdog Strata is stronger
- Register accuracy. Alerts for duplicate mobile numbers, wrong-unit registrations and mismatched owner, agent or tenancy details. Households confirm when a new resident moves in.
- Owner-controlled tenancy. Owner-occupiers add and remove their own tenants. The manager approves, and a rejection reverses the change.
- Owners' decisions. Quote comparison and a poll with results hidden until close.
- No install. Residents just open a link.
Watch-outs
GetApp AU lists 10 BuildingLink reviews. Some call the interface "dated" or "clunky" and say setup isn't easy. One notes that KeyLink requires a BuildingLink service contract to function. Others mention occasional crashes and residents struggling to upload maintenance requests. Many reviews are also positive about the system once it's running. For Watchdog, the watch-outs are clear: it has no bookings, no hardware integrations and no native apps, and it's a newer product with one live building.
Questions to ask either vendor
- What share of lots in comparable buildings log in at least once every 90 days?
- How does the system know when a tenant moves out, and who updates the register?
- Can owners see what's being fixed without seeing who reported it?
- What can we export if we leave, and in what format?
Which should you choose?
- Choose BuildingLink for a concierge-style building that wants reservations, visitor management and integrations with lockers or access hardware.
- Consider Watchdog Strata if your main problems are tenancy records drifting, access-card requests and getting owners' views on quotes before the committee decides.
