Feature

English and 简体中文, for every resident

Short answerWatchdog Strata’s interface is available in English and Simplified Chinese. Residents switch with one tap on the sign-in screen, profile or menu. The choice is saved on their account, so in-app notifications are written in their language too. Content residents write, such as tickets and messages, stays as written.

What’s translated

  • Every menu, button, status, form hint and error message
  • Notifications: tickets, parcels, polls, approvals, household checks
  • Dates and relative times (for example 10月30日周五, 5 分钟前)

What stays as written

Ticket descriptions, messages, notice text, listing titles and names, so nothing gets lost in machine translation.

Why it matters

In many Sydney and Melbourne apartment buildings, a large share of residents read Chinese more comfortably than English. If residents can’t read the app, they phone the building manager instead.

Questions people ask

Can I share a link that opens in Chinese?

Yes. Add ?lang=zh to the building’s app link, and it opens in Simplified Chinese.
